’s ouster in 2022 via a no-confidence vote have triggered a debate and raised questions over the facts he shared in the interview.

During an interview with a private TV channel on Thursday, Fazl claimed that the no-trust move against the PTI government was tabled on the directives of ex-army chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa and former spymaster Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid.

A multi-party alliance led by Fazlur Rehman — Pakistain Democratic Movement (PDM) — had tabled the no-confidence motion in March 2022 which was passed by the National Assembly the next month, paving the way for a coalition government headed by Shehhaz Sharif of Pakistain Moslem League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The sources also revealed that the JUI-F chief met with Gen Bajwa and ISI Director-General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum along with Pakistain Peoples' Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and other leaders.

The meeting was conducted at ISI Mess Margalla Road in Islamabad, said the sources, adding that Lt Gen (retd) Hamid was then posted as corps commander in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

-Pakistain (MQM-P) leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

The sources revealed that Gen Bajwa had asked the opposition leaders to withdraw the no-confidence motion against the PTI founder. "An offer was made that if the no-trust motion is withdrawn, the then-prime minister will resign and announce elections," the sources added.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
the sources said that during the meeting, Bilawal and Fazl opposed the proposal.

The then-PDM chief claimed in the interview that "I was personally against the no-confidence move [...] but if I had said no despite the insistence of other parties, then an impression would’ve been given that I ’saved’ the PTI founder".

Fazl also said: "While the PPP was running the movement for a no-confidence motion, Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hamid told me that I could do whatever I wanted, but within the system."

The JUI-F chief said Hamid told him that he could not "do anything outside the system" — meaning that every move should be made inside the parliament, not on the streets.

"But I rejected his directions," he said but noted that later on, the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), MQM-P, and others left the PTI-led government.

"When they said that [the anti-PTI] is now in the majority, I had to agree with them otherwise it would’ve been said that I helped save Imran Khan," the JUI-F chief, who has rejected February 8 election results, said.

president Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti on Sunday said Bugti rustics were fully prepared to fight against India in the hills of the Kashmire valley.

"Bugti rustics would fight against Indian troops ahead of Pakistain Army," said the grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

The statement from the chief of JWP comes at a time when Indian rhetoric against Pakistain has reached a fever pitch following the attack on an Indian army camp in India-held Kashmire, with the valley going through a period of great turmoil.

Shahzain said Indian forces are involved in atrocities against the defenceless and voiceless Kashmiris, and added that the "sacrifices of the Kashmiris will not go unnoticed".

(JI) on Saturday announced it would boycott elections in Karachi and Hyderabad, accusing rival MQM of rigging and violence. "These are false elections, armed workers of the MQM are terrorising people and rigging the elections," Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, a JI party leader announced at a presser.

(PTI) also accused the MQM of major rigging in the city. JI withdrew all of its 29 candidates who were contesting for national and provincial seats, as well as withdrawing from Hyderabad.

The election commission also raised concerns about threats to its staff in the port city, which it says has prevented them from performing their duties. "In other instances, attempts have been made to hijack the vehicles transporting voting material from the returning officers to the polling stations. This has caused serious delays in polling," it said in a statement.

The independent Free and Fair Election Network tweeted from its account that three of its observers had been beaten up by MQM workers in a district of Karachi. Arif Alvi, a senior PTI leader, also charged that "extensive rigging" had taken place, claiming that thousands of its supporters had been prevented from voting. However,

During a presser in Karachi on Saturday, Gabol said MQM's polling agents were harassed in Lyari, adding that despite constant demands for extra security in area no such arrangements were seen. Following Jamaat-e-Islami's boycott, other political and politico-religious parties also announced to pull their candidates out of the polling race because of vote-rigging in Karachi and Hyderabad.

The Pakistain People's Party (PPP) has also expressed its doubts in the fairness of the elections, saying that rigging is being carried in Karachi under an effective plan. Addressing a presser, senior PPP leader Taj Haider alleged elections have massively been rigged in Karachi and subsequently their results would also be tampered. The MQM also complained of rigging. Addressing a presser, MQM's Farooq Sattar alleged that rigging is underway at some polling stations of Karachi.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain telephoned Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim and complained about delay in the start of polling in various constituencies. Chief of Muhajir Qaumi Movement-Haqeeqi Afaq Ahmed also announced boycott of elections in Karachi, saying that the polling was not being held free and fair. Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) also pulled its candidates out of the polling race in Karachi. The SIC alleged that rigging was being carried out in an organized way.

Another key religious party, Jamaat Ulema-e-Pakistain (JUP) followed suit. The chief of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Talal Akbar Bugti announced to boycott the elections completely, terming them a fraud. While talking to the media, he claimed that elections were not free, fair and transparent, adding that candidates had been pre-decided for selection. Get rid of FC, Talal Bugti tells govt
2012-10-10
[Dawn] Leader of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Talal Bugti on Monday demanded the government to get rid of Frontier Corps (FC).

"The fate of FC should be similar to that of 'Federal Security Force' created by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto
...9th PM of Pakistain from 1973 to 1977, and 4th President of Pakistain from 1971 to 1973. He was the founder of the Pakistain Peoples Party (PPP). His eldest daughter, Benazir Bhutto, would also serve as hereditary PM. In a coup led by General Zia-ul-Haq, Bhutto was removed from office and was executed in 1979 for authorizing the murder of a political opponent...
and was finished off by Gen Zia ul Haq
...the creepy-looking former dictator of Pakistain. Zia was an Islamic nutball who imposed his nutballery on the rest of the country with the enthusiastic assistance of the nation's religious parties, which are populated by other nutballs. He was appointed Chief of Army Staff in 1976 by Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, whom he hanged when he seized power. His time in office was a period of repression, with hundreds of thousands of political rivals, minorities, and journalists executed or tortured, including senior general officers convicted in coup-d'état plots, who would normally be above the law. As part of his alliance with the religious parties, his government helped run the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, providing safe havens, American equipiment, Saudi money, and Pak handlers to selected mujaheddin. Zia died along with several of his top generals and admirals and the then United States Ambassador to Pakistain Arnold Lewis Raphel when he was assassinated in a suspicious air crash near Bahawalpur in 1988...
," he said adding the police should be responsible for controlling law and order in city areas.

Addressing a presser at the National Press Club, Talal Bugti said that instead of providing security in the border areas and controlling other illegal activities in Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
the FC was protecting the criminals.

"Besides being involved in smuggling of goods, vehicles and drugs," Talal Bugti said, "they are carrying out extrajudicial killings of political workers in the province."

He, however, said that the FC personnel were not doing all such activities alone rather they had the support of federal and provincial politicianship.

"The booty from the above-mentioned illicit business including the extortions is shared by the interior minister, Rehman Malik
Pak politician, Interior Minister under the Gilani government. Malik is a former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intelligence officer who rose to head the FIA during Benazir Bhutto's second tenure. Malik was tossed from his FIA job in 1998 after documenting the breath-taking corruption of the Sharif family. By unhappy coincidence Nawaz Sharif became PM at just that moment and Malik moved to London one step ahead of the button men. He had to give up the interior ministry job because he held dual Brit citizenship.
, and a percentage goes to the top," he added without naming any person or authority but later said he was referring to the politicianship in the country which heads the ruling party too.

Responding to the queries by mediapersons about foreign involvement in the province, Mr Bugti bluntly responded that the security agencies should be made accountable for that.

"What are the ISI, MI and the FC doing there?" he said adding: "It is their job to check such activity not only in Balochistan but all over the country."

Bugti, US diplomat meet privately: TV reporters thrashed for snooping
2012-03-10
[Dawn] Two television journalists' attempt to snoop on a Baloch leader and a US diplomat meeting privately in a hotel here on Thursday ended in a fracas and detention of four Punjab police personnel.

Islamabad police said they were also looking for seven bodyguards of Jamhoori Watan Party leader Shazain Bugti.

They, together with the Punjab coppers, allegedly beat up a private TV channel crew when they started filming Mr Bugti and US Embassy's political counsellor Jonathan Pratt, despite his protests that the journalists had barged in their private meeting uninvited.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik
Pak politician, current Interior Minister under the Gilani administration. Malik is a former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intelligence officer who rose to head the FIA during Benazir Bhutto's second tenure. He later joined the Pak Peoples Party and was chief security officer to Bhutto. Malik was tossed from his FIA job in 1998 after documenting the breath-taking corruption of the Sharif family. By unhappy coincidence Nawaz Sharif became PM at just that moment and Malik moved to London one step ahead of the button men.
arrived at the hotel to enquire after the commotion had ended. His sudden appearance gave rise to questions, if not suspicions, among the witnesses of the incident that lasted about 20 minutes.

Police was interrogating the Punjab coppers at the Secretariat cop shoppe but no charges had been pressed till late night.

Local administration and the police were said to be negotiating with Mr Bugti to settle the issue quietly and return the journalist's cellphone.

Witnesses to the fracas in the heavily protected Serena Hotel blamed both sides -- the journalists for intruding into the privacy of two individuals, and the coppers and Mr Bugti's bodyguards for thrashing them.

One of the TV crew members said Mr Bugti flared up when they started recording the scene on his mobile phone. Mr Bugti snatched the phone and ordered his guards, mainly the police escort provided to him by the Punjab government, to push them out.

He said he decamped the scene but Mr Bugti's private guards caught up with him in the basement of the hotel and beat him up.

He said he freed himself and ran back to the lobby at the upper level where more bodyguards had appeared but did not act because other mediapersons had arrived there meanwhile.

Towards the end of the ugly row, he said, the bodyguards were seen putting their weapons in a Land Cruiser which sped away.

It bore registration number LC-22 and belonged to Punjab Chief Minister's escort squad, he said.

At no point did the hotel's security came to the rescue of the journalists under attack, he added.

A guard of Mr Bugti told news hounds on condition of anonymity that the journalists asked Mr Pratt about "the agenda" of his meeting with the Baloch leader, a grandson of late Nawab Akbar Bugti, but the US diplomat declined to comment.

"Sardar sahib and the American told the news hounds that media was not invited to their meeting and it was a private meeting. But since you are here, enjoy tea in the hotel restaurant," the guard said.

Nationalists refuse to attend All-Parties Conference on Balochistan
2012-02-27
QUETTA: Baloch and Pashtun nationalists have declined the invitation of the Difa-e-Pakistan Council to participate in the All-Parties Conference (APC) on Balochistan, scheduled to be held in Quetta today (Monday).
They still don't trust Rehman Malik. Wonder why...
Major political parties, including the Balochistan National Party (BNP), National Party (NP), Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PMAP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have reportedly received the formal invitation for the APC. It will be useless if stakeholders concerned like BNP, NP and JWP are not taking part in this conference.

The Baloch National Front, an alliance of several hardliner nationalist parties and students’ organisations, had already boycotted the APC. On the other hand, the DFC’s contact committee is busy in persuading political and nationalist parties for the past four days to ensure their participation, but Balochistan PPP former president Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, JWP President Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti and PML-N leader General (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch have announced their boycott of the APC. Arrangements have been finalised for the APC, which would be chaired by DFC Chairman Samiul Haq. All leaders of the council, including Maulana Samiul Haq, JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch, Jamaatud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, former ISI chief General (r) Hameed Gul, Jamaat Ahle-Sunnat leader Maulana Muhammad Ahmed Ludhianvi, Ulema Pakistan Council leader Tahir Ashrafi and PML-Zia President Ejazul Haq have reached to attend the APC.
